He finds a talking frog with blue eyes. In a Prince and the Frog take on an old classic adventures and self-discovery ensue.

I really enjoyed this rendition of the classic. I think it is important to re-invent classics for younger and older audiences. This one engages the adult and the child and keeps it relevant for the reader.

I really enjoyed the interactions between Becky and Davey as well as Kevin and Davey. I wou Early Chapter Book Davey is out with his friend and they are looking for frogs. I would incorporate this book with a fairytale section in my classroom. I like to mix the new and old fairytales because you never know which style will engage which child and variety helps. I wonder why there are so many human-transformed-into-frog stories. There must be something about frogs, maybe their hands, that make us relate to them on some level. Anyway, this is one of those, and the frog princess is very feisty and I liked the illustrations at the beginning of each chapter that shows her in various seething attitudes.

I also liked how Davey figures out how selfish and irresponsible he's being toward his animal pets and makes a turn around, which was missing in the Gorfman I wonder why there are so many human-transformed-into-frog stories.

Jan 19, Mrs. Davey and the Blue-Eyed Frog this story is a spin off of the girl who finds a handsome prince stuck in a frogs body. This time the spin is opposite as Davey finds a frog with blue eyes and talks of her days as a princess and requests but one simple thing form Davey-a kiss.

This was a fun kid's book. I read it to my kids for a bed time story and they really enjoyed the story and the pictures. After I read it to them, we were able to talk about being nice to others and discuss times in the books when the characters were and weren't nice to each other.
